Overview

Your speaking voice is important

I feel so privileged to have the power of being able to speak with confidence to any level of audience, whether I am teaching students to A-Level standard, coaching professional business people or standing on an International Stage.

I didn't realise just how important my voice was to me, until, in 1980 I lost it, albeit temporarily. Not being able to communicate effectively and have other people speaking for me was so frustrating and scary.

I was so grateful then to my voice and drama teacher, Miss Drummond, who had taught me the dynamics of articulation and breathing.

It didn't happen overnight but through using breathing exercises and a favourite poem, I regained my voice and was able to communicate once again.

I feel so privileged to have the power of being able to speak with confidence to any level of audience, whether I am teaching students to A-Level standard, coaching professional business people or standing on an International Stage. I know that once I start, I do deliver.

Many can't or rather can't YET.
